(1) SURREAL SONG has consistent recent form over this trip and should play a leading role.
(6) ASTROPHILE was a beaten short-priced favourite in a similar contest last time but did have excuses, so she could make amends.
(2) PENNYS CHOICE and (5) LADY ENID have earning potential.

Race 2 (1,000m)

(1) GALLIC KING is lightly raced and has shown enough pace over further to be competitive over this shorter trip.
(12) THE BACHELORETTE failed to confirm early promise when a beaten favourite last time. But a subsequent break would have done her good and she can also improve.
(4) AUTOGRAPH was second over the track and trip recently and should have a role to play if repeating that performance.
(6) SMOKING GUN has the form and experience to get involved too.

Race 3 (1,600m)

(1) ROYALE JACKET deserves to get his head in front after back-to-back seconds.
(6) IMYOURHUCKLEBERRY did not go unnoticed last time despite finishing unplaced when making up a lot of ground over 1,400m. That suggests this extended trip will be more to his liking.
(3) ECHO OF THE WILD and (5) WARTRAX BLAZE have the form and experience to get into the picture.

Race 4 (1,600m)

(1) ELISA MBALI stayed on well to finish second over 1,700m last time and a similar performance could suffice.
(5) EMPRESS OF PEACE would not have to improve much over this extended trip to go one better.
(2) SWORD OF LIGHT is held on that form, but has shown enough to be competitive after back-to-back seconds over 1,400m.
(6) NORTHERN EUROPEAN could also be better suited to this distance and her experience will stand her in good stead.

Race 5 (1,600m)

(5) THE MIGHTIEST is 4kg better off for a half-length beating, so she is weighted to turn the tables.
(2) BAY EMPIRE followed up under a penalty last time and another bold bid is expected.
Last-start maiden winner (6) ONE STATE is improving, so he must be respected on his handicap debut.
Hard-knocker (3) UBERMENSCH also could get involved.

Race 6 (1,600m)

(1) SKY PILOT and (8) KNOWMORE are closely matched on the form of a recent meeting at this level and they could fight out the finish off unchanged marks.
(2) AFTER HOURS finished ahead of those rivals but carries a penalty for winning subsequently.
Fellow last-start winner (6) SPIRIT OF GABZ is progressive, so he should have a role to play in a hat-trick bid despite a three-point rise.

Race 7 (1,450m)

(1) AMERICAN BEAUTY has thrived on the Highveld, winning twice at this level. She finished a game-in-defeat second last time at a higher level and needs only to repeat that effort to go one better.
(9) LADY ELLIOT has dropped to a competitive mark and is better off at the weights, so she could give the selection most to fear.
(3) TRIP OF FAITH has had the form of her last-start victory franked by three subsequent winners, so she cannot be taken lightly.
(7) FISH HAWK is weighted to pose more of a threat.

Race 8 (1,450m)

The preference is for recent maiden winner (3) LIGHTINTHEWOODS, who enjoyed the 1,400m and should have more to offer over this extended trip.

A bigger threat will likely come from the consistent topweight (1) DELAWARE RIVER off a slightly reduced mark.

(2) MISS RIVER DANCER won a Work Riders maiden from the front last time and her rider’s 4kg allowance stands her in good stead.
(10) ON A JET PLANE has earning potential too.

Race 9 (1,200m)

The well-bred (3) LATE BLOOMER made a winning Highveld debut over 1,600m. She showed enough pace last time to be competitive on her handicap debut over this shorter trip.
(2) BLINDFIRE finished second over this trip against male opposition recently, so she should have a role to play back in same-sex company off an unchanged mark.
(5) ELUSIVE RED races off a career-low mark. Warrants respect.
(4) ARIZONA MAGIC has earning potential too.
