Tan Sze En understands the frustration of being an injured athlete only too well. She fractured her left ankle in 2017, tore her rotator cuff a year later and a lateral collateral ligament strain in her left knee forced her out of last month's SEA Games.
It is no wonder the national gymnast has toyed with quitting the sport several times through the years, but what she really dreads is something beyond physical pain.
