With the netball team clinching a historic gold medal at the recent SEA Games, Caraters Diamonds have surprised players Charmaine Soh and Micky Lin on Saturday with a pair of limited edition specially crafted one-carat diamond earrings, worth a total of S$10,000, at the Caraters flagship store in UE Square Shopping Mall.
The diamond sports earrings, which are designed to resemble a ball in a hoop, took an average of 420 hours to hand-craft, and are more hardy that traditional earrings.
Together with the earrings, both netballers also received a cash reward of $1,000 each.
James Syddall, chief executive officer of diamond retailer Caraters, said: "I am seriously looking to getting our brands, Syddall Diamonds and Caraters, to be more involved in local sports. Today is my first baby steps in doing this."
