SINGAPORE - Singapore-based mixed martial arts organisation (MMA) One Championship have announced their co-main event bout at One: Dynasty of Heroes.

One welterweight world champion Ben Askren will defend his title against rising young Malaysian fighter Agilan Thani on May 26 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The bout will take place alongside the main event featuring One women's atomweight world champion Angela Lee, who will square off against Brazilian challenger Istela Nunes.

Lee is of Singaporean and Korean descent.

One Championship CEO Victor Cui said: "We are excited to announce that One welterweight world champion Ben Askren is back, and he's ready to welcome the young Agilan Thani to the upper echelon of the division.

"It is going to be an awesome showdown of youth versus experience, on a night fans will not want to miss."

A former National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I All-American wrestler, Askren seized the championship belt with a resounding technical knockout victory over Japan's Nobutatsu Suzuki on Aug 29, 2014.

Askren's MMA record stands at 15 wins, with one no-contest.

The undefeated Thani, 21, has a perfect 7-0 record as a professional fighter, with five of his seven victories ending in the first round.
