Race 1 (1,100m)
(5) OLAF THE STOUT only found one better on the day on debut. He showed good pace that day and with that experience will prove hard to beat.
The other runners with experience in this race have not shown much, so it is left to the four newcomers as possible dangers. Two of them hail from the yard of Dean Smith and the other two represent trainer Kelly Mitchley.
Stable rider Craig Zackey (Smith) rides (7) CHIM CHIM CHEREE, a Chimichuri Run filly.
Stable jockey Muzi Yeni (Mitchley) is aboard (3) INTO RED SPACE, an Erik The Red colt.
(6) Rocking In Rio can also get in the mix.
Race 2 (1,200m)
(2) OBSIDIAN STAR only found star filly Marchland a bit too good on her debut. She can go one better this time around.
Trainer Alan Greeff has also had a fair number of juvenile winners, so his representative, (1) MALIBU ICE, a Malmoos filly, will have her supporters.
(3) PRINCESS OF AJIAAL has not been disgraced in her two starts and should contest the finish.
(4) ROSES FOR TREX, a Horizon filly, makes her debut, so monitor the betting regarding her.
Race 3 (1,600m)
(1) HOMING PIGEON is very consistent and has been battling to win in the Western Cape. She has improved with the aid of blinkers and could break the ice for visiting trainer Justin Snaith.
(3) MISSOURI FLAME was touched off on the Polytrack last time and could contest the finish again.
(2) ONE SUMMER is showing her best form now on the turf and can get involved with the finish.
(4) OH MANDY is not reliable but is always capable of running into the money.
(5) TOUCH THE SWORD and (6) MEDITERRANEANFLAME are capable of minor money.
Race 4 (1,800m)
Western Cape raider (5) SONG TO THE MOON is not in the top six best-weighted runners for this race. He does still seem capable of winning a race of this nature.
(1) GLOBAL ALLY broke a long losing run when scoring in his penultimate start but did not repeat that last time. He is a real threat to these rivals, though.
(7) GINGER DELIGHT has won on the turf but does seem to prefer the Polytrack these days.
(3) HONORABLE MEMBER and (4) GEORGE HANDEL are better than their most recent runs and deserve some respect.
Race 5 (1,400m)
Probably the most competitive race on this card and it may pay to go very wide in the exotics.
(11) LA LANDONNE showed improvement last time and from a decent enough draw, could win.
(3) LADY BOMBER continues to win her races from pole position, she may yet score again.
(2) FAMILY POWER is consistent but will have a difficult draw to overcome.
(4) EXQUISITE is not reliable but is capable of winning. Stable companions (7) CHERRY OH BABY and (8) DUPONT EMERALD are both in good shape and not out of it.
(9) VOLARE E MAMBO is at the top of her game, so must be respected.
(5) MOUNTAIN HIGH makes her local debut and would not be a surprise winner.
Race 6 (1,200m)
A good field for this Listed race and we should get a competitive finish.
(1) FAIRY KNIGHT has won his last three starts and has a win over this course and distance, so is the one to beat.
(6) ROMAN AGENT should be right there at the finish once again.
(4) MERCANTOUR just needed his last run. Clearly not out of it.
(2) CRUISE CONTROL is very speedy and has won over this track and trip.
Race 7 (1,600m)
(4) ANOTHERDANCEFORME has only lost once in eight starts and that was at Kenilworth. She returned from a break with a facile victory over this course and distance last month and she can add another victory to her tally.
If there is to be a danger, Western Cape raider (1) IN A TIMELY MANNER is it. He showed what he is capable of with a very easy win last time out and could have more to offer. It is very hard to see any of the others as winners.
(5) SILVA CITY has ability and will not go down without a fight.
(6) AUGUSTA ROSSO and (2) ACTION AMERICA have place chances.
Race 8 (1,600m)
The normal Friday afternoon big race handicap last race.
Visiting trainer Justin Snaith has a good record in races of this nature at this track, so (2) MENTE ET MANU could prove to be the right one.
(8) INGQWELE was a solid winner on the Polytrack last time and will need to prove he is as good.
(11) WILD FIG is better than his last run and is another to consider for the placings.
(3) PORFIRIO has won his last three starts, and is a danger.
