The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained Half Yours (Jamie Melham) landing the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2,400m) on Oct 18. The St Jean gelding has strong claims in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3,200m) at Flemington on Nov 4.

Well-credentialled Irish stayer with wins in the Group 2 Curragh Cup (2,800m) and Group 1 Irish St Leger (2,800m) in his last two starts at Curragh. Go close.

At his last start he was narrowly beaten in the Group 1 Cox Plate (2,040m) at Moonee Valley by Via Sistina. He finished ninth in 2024 but had little luck.

6 Presage Nocturne
French Group 1 place-getter who impressed with his fast-finishing effort for 1.81L fourth to Half Yours in the Caulfield Cup. Extra distance suits.
7 Middle Earth
He finished 11th in the Caulfield Cup and followed that with a sound third in the Group 3 JRA Cup (2,040m) at Moonee Valley.
8 Meydaan
English stayer who was trapped wide and worked home well when 4.7L ninth to Half Yours in the Caulfield Cup.
9 Absurde
Irish stayer who is contesting his third Melbourne Cup after finishing seventh in 2023 and fifth in 2024. Good effort when seventh in the Caulfield Cup.
10 Flatten The Curve
German stayer who is in great form, having won his last two starts to make it six from his past seven. He creates a lot of interest.
11 Land Legend
He needs to improve on his last two starts in which he finished last in the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2,000m) and then the Caulfield Cup.
12 Smokin’ Romans
Veteran who is a query in this class and this distance. He needs to improve on his last-start eighth in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Gold Cup (2,500m).
13 Changingoftheguard
He needs to improve. At his last start he finished 3.9L sixth in the Group 3 Geelong Cup (2,400m) on Oct 23.
14 Half Yours
He is going to be hard to beat. He came from well back to win the Caulfield Cup. He should be suited by the 3,200m trip.

American stayer who has won his last two starts at Saratoga on dirt tracks over 2,800m, including one at Grade 3 level.

Improved run last start when he finished 0.75L second to Onesmoothoperator in the Moonee Valley Gold Cup on Oct 24.
20 Goodie Two Shoes
Irish mare who put together three wins before she finished third at Group 2 level over 2,800m at Goodwood on Aug 2.
21 River Of Stars
She showed improvement with her last start 0.46L second to Half Yours in the Caulfield Cup. She is a good chance on that effort.
22 Royal Supremacy
He is in form. Two starts ago, he won the The Metropolitan at Randwick and then finished fifth in the Caulfield Cup.
23 Torranzino
He is racing well. Two starts ago, he finished second to Valiant King at Group 3 level at Flemington and then won the Geelong Cup.

He has found his best form with a win in the Group 3 The Bart Cummings (2,500m) at Flemington and then third in the Caulfield Cup. Respect.
