The 2025 LIV Golf schedule, announced this week, will take the circuit to nine countries and territories and six new venues, including a first-time location for the season-ending team championship.

The final events of the 14-tournament schedule were revealed on Jan 7 and will be played at Club de Golf Chapultepec in Mexico City from April 25-27; Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia from June 6-8 and The Cardinal at Saint John’s Resort in Plymouth, Michigan for the team championship from Aug 22-24.

LIV Golf also will return to the Blue Monster at Trump National Doral in Miami from April 4-6.

“Our global calendar continues to expand with a focus on playing the very best golf courses and delivering a unique and memorable experience for fans,” said Ross Hallett, LIV Golf’s executive vice-president and head of events.

“The 2025 slate features courses that have hosted multiple Presidents Cups, the Ryder Cup and the Solheim Cup, where team golf has shone.

“We have a strong blend of historic venues rich with tradition, and contemporary clubs establishing new traditions of their own, and this season will be another incredible showcase for the LIV Golf, our teams and our players.”

The fourth LIV Golf season tees off at Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia from Feb 6-8.

The tour will then move on to The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia, from Feb 14-16; Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling from March 7-9 and Singapore’s Sentosa Golf Club from March 14-16.

LIV Golf will also have international tournaments at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon, South Korea, from May 2-4; Real Club Valderrama in Sotogrande, Spain from July 11-13 and JCB Golf and Country Club in Uttoxeter, England from July 25-27.

Other stops in the United States include a return to Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, from June 27-29; Bolingbrook Golf Club in Illinois from Aug 8-10 and The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield, Indiana, from Aug 15-17.

In other golf news, Trevor Immelman, the former Masters champion and current golf broadcast analyst, will take over as chair of the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) on April 10, its board announced on Jan 7.

The OWGR said in a statement that the South African will continue in his role as lead golf analyst at CBS, where he has worked since 2019.

He will succeed retiring Englishman Peter Dawson, a former European Tour player who has held the role since 2016.

“The Official World Golf Ranking has always been a huge part of my life and professional career,” the 45-year-old said.

“Growing up in South Africa and falling in love with the game as a youngster, the ranking system was how I tracked and followed my favourite players and understood who the best players in the world were.

“Then, as I turned professional, my focus on the rankings intensified, as I knew being in the top 50 allowed me to play in the biggest tournaments around the world.”

Immelman won 11 times in his professional career, including on the PGA, European and Sunshine Tours. He defeated Tiger Woods by three strokes at the 2008 Masters for his only career Major title.
