(REUTERS) - Swede Kristoffer Broberg prevailed in a play-off with American Patrick Reed to clinch the BMW Masters golf title in Shanghai on Sunday.
American Reed (67) and Broberg (68) had earlier finished with identical 72-hole totals of 17-under 271 at the Lake Malaren Golf Club.
But 29-year-old Broberg, ranked 149th in the world, made a birdie three at the first extra hole to win his maiden European Tour title.
Swede Henrik Stenson (68), Dane Lucas Bjerregaard (70), South Korean An Byeong hun (70) and overnight Thai leader Thongchai Jaidee (71) finished one shot behind.
