BUDAPEST - Twelve races through its 21-event calendar, the normally unstoppable sport of Formula One goes into its summer break with Mercedes back on top in both the drivers' and constructors' World Championships.

Nothing new there, we might once have said. But the fact is that this is an unusual situation this season, because it has become increasingly evident in recent races that Ferrari are the current pacesetters.
