SINGAPORE - Besides posing with fans and driving in circles, what have the Formula One drivers been up to since they arrived for the Singapore Grand Prix? Here is a look at some of their activities, including the food they tried and the sites they visited:
1. Family fun
"Very happy having my amazing sister @victoriaverstappen here with me," Red Bull driver Max Verstappen wrote.
He and his sister, Victoria-Jane, have been visiting tourist areas such as the Helix Bridge near the race track on Thursday (Sept 15).
2. Keeping cool
Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg posted a photograph of himself working out before the qualifying sessions on the circuit on Saturday.
It was an "easy workout session", he wrote. But things were much different on Friday, when Rosberg posed shirtless in front of an electric fan.
"It's damn hot!!" was his caption.
3. Grabbing a bite
Former English footballer Rio Ferdinand, who is here for the race, ruffled feathers when he posted a picture of his room service meal with the caption "Nasi goreng lunch.. Keeping it local in #Singapore".
Some Indonesian fans were disgruntled at the suggestion that nasi goreng is a Singaporean dish.
Not that this bothered Rosberg, who was spotted at Lau Pa Sat on Thursday.
Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo, on the other hand, hit up Newton Food Centre for seafood at Heng Heng BBQ on Friday evening.
"Mixed in with the locals last night," Ricciardo later wrote. "Had some good local food."
He also tweeted: "Been a good 24hrs so far in Singapore."
4. Celebrating a national holiday
Although far from home, Haas driver Esteban Gutierrez made a video for his compatriots to mark Mexico's Independence Day, which fell on Friday.
"I want to say to you that I feel very proud to be Mexican," he said in Spanish.
"Congratulations to all Mexicans on this very special day for us."
5. Hanging out with local wildlife
Both Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa posted pictures of the monitor lizard that wandered across the track on Saturday.
"New friend in FP3," Alonso wrote wryly.
