SINGAPORE - Uruguay joined hosts Russia in the last 16 of the World Cup, after striker Luis Suarez scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Saudi Arabia.  

In Group B, Portugal and Spain both recorded narrow 1-0 victories courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo and Diego Costa respectively.
