SINGAPORE - For at least 90 minutes on Wednesday (July 11) morning, a part of Singapore was transformed into a mini European city as almost 3,000 people watched France beat Belgium 1-0 in the semi-final of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, during a screening at El Mero Mero in Chijmes.

Sounds of blaring air-horns, cries of "Allez les bleus" (Go the blues) and "Komaan Belgium" (Come on Belgium) echoed through the air for almost the entirety of the match.
