SINGAPORE - Manchester United and Liverpool will bring the heat from their rivalry to Singapore, as former stars from the two English Premier League clubs will take part in the "The Castlewood Group Battle of the Reds" match at the National Stadium on Nov 14.
Organised by Masters Football Asia and Castlewood Group, the Battle of the Reds will be a 80-minute, 11-a-side match played out on the National Stadium pitch.
Liverpool Masters have already confirmed five players for the match, with 2005 Champions League winners Jerzy Dudek, Luis Garcia and Dietmar Hamann joining Robbie Fowler and Steve McManaman.
Confirming their participation for the Man United Masters are three players from their 1995/96 Double-winning team - Andy Cole, Paul Parker and Lee Sharpe - as well as Ronny Johnsen and Karel Poborsky
Tickets are on sale at www.mastersfootball.com and SportsHubTix, with organisers releasing only 11,000 tickets for this event. Prices range from $19 to $45 per ticket, while there are also family packages (two adults and two kids) priced at $88.20 (category 2) and $115.20 (category 1).
This will be the first time that stars from both EPL giants will be participating in an 11-a-side match in Singapore. In 2013, at the IG Masters Football Sixes Singapore Cup, a team of former Liverpool stars featuring Fowler, Patrik Berger and Vladimir Smicer defeated their Red Devils counterparts, who had Louis Saha and Parker in their ranks.
