SINGAPORE - The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is poised to name Fandi Ahmad as the man who will hold the fort for the national team while the search continues for the coach who will lead the Lions on a permanent basis.

Sources revealed that Fandi, who currently helms the national Under-23s, will eventually remain in the senior set-up when the FAS finds its man, taking on a role similar to that of an assistant national coach.
