ST PETERSBURG - So Spain and Portugal ultimately got the job done and progressed to the round of 16 at the World Cup, but they will have to improve drastically if their campaigns are to go beyond that.

Spain topped Group B late on Monday after ekeing out a 2-2 draw with Morocco and will face Group A runners-up Russia, while Portugal will have a trickier task against Uruguay after edging past Iran 1-1.
