An early goal from Paulo Dybala earned AS Roma a 1-0 win at Sassuolo on Sunday, which lifted them level on points with Serie A leaders Napoli.

Roma launched a quick attack in the 16th minute but Bryan Cristante's shot was saved by Sassuolo keeper Arijanet Muric. However, Dybala pounced on the rebound to net his first goal of the campaign.

The rest of the match was an even affair, with Lorenzo Pellegrini coming close to doubling the visitors’ lead when he sent an effort against the woodwork minutes after the hour mark.

Roma gradually took control of the latter part of the match but the game ended without further goals.

Gian Piero Gasperini's side are on 18 points, tied with Napoli, who beat Inter Milan 3-1 on Saturday. Sassuolo are 12th with 10 points. REUTERS
