Race 1 (1,200m)
(1) ICONIC WINTER has been consistent without winning so far. She makes her local debut trying the Polytrack and does look the one to beat.
(4) OCEAN FLAME was touched off on local debut and should be right there at the finish once again.
(5) PRICELESS TREASURE has been consistent and can contest the finish yet again.
(6) FIVE STAR MAGIC returns from a lengthy break but could play a minor role.
Race 2 (1,400m)
(2) ENCHANTING CHOICE is unbeaten in three starts and was very impressive on the Polytrack last time. She is not weighted to win but should do so.
(1) SPLICETHEMAINBRACE has not been at her best, but is unbeaten in two starts on Poly and should be right there at the finish.
(4) MONTELENA is holding her form and can earn some money.
(5) UNCONQUERABLE LADY has shown improvement of late and has a place chance.
Race 3 (1,600m)
(8) RED LHASA was well beaten on a soft track last time. She makes her local debut and it may well be a winning one.
(2) BOMBER BAY is better than his last run would suggest and is threatening to win a race.
(3) CLIFFIE CLAVIN was touched off last time. He can go one better.
(1) PROLIFIC STAR has been consistent of late and can contest the finish once again.
Race 4 (2,000m)
(1) TERMINAL VELOCITY makes her local debut and may well prove better than these rivals.
(5) GOLDEN CROC can threaten and should fight out the finish.
(2) GLOBAL SCENE is better than her last run and can make the frame.
(3) AM STILL WINNING did not show her best last week but has a place chance.
Race 5 (2,000m)
A change of trainer seems to have done (2) EPIKLEROS a world of good. She has some solid wins of late and has every chance of completing a hat-trick.
(1) FLIGHT DISPLAY is at her best on this surface and was an easy winner last time. She can contest the finish yet again.
(7) HONORABLE MEMBER is a difficult filly to win with, but she is very consistent and can get involved with the finish yet again.
(5) ONE RELIGION has been consistent of late and has Richard Fourie riding her, so she would not be a surprise winner.
Race 6 (1,600m)
(4) WINTER EMERALDS is unbeaten in two starts on the Polytrack. Both those wins were easy and he may well win again.
(7) ONE SCOTCH and (8) DYNALLEY both like this surface and could be dangers.
(9) KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is in good form and clearly not out of it.
Race 7 (1,300m)
(2) CHERRY OH BABY was not beaten far on local debut. She will be fitter this time and can score.
(4) SPOIL YOURSELF won her latest start nicely and could follow up over the shorter trip.
(1) MARSHMALLOW is not reliable but is capable of winning.
(5) GENOVEFA is capable of better than it showed last time and could earn some money.
Race 8 (1,200m)
(12) TEEREX makes his local debut. He has been consistent of late and could score.
(14) WAR LAUNCH is back in form and is also capable of scoring.
(5) THE ROARING ROCK has claims in this line-up.
(4) RAVILIOUS has been in good form of late and would not be a surprise winner.
Race 9 (1,900m)
(5) FINE WINE has been knocking at the door for some time and will never get a better opportunity to shed her maiden tag.
(7) INTRO was a beaten favourite last time. That was on the Poly and the switch back to turf could suit.
(8) SHEEZAROCKET is seldom too far back and the step-up in trip could bring out her best.
(3) SKIPPER O’MALLEY also has a chance.
Race 10 (1,600m)
(4) HARUN AL RASHID has not shown since his maiden win, but has some issues since he is lightly raced. He is down in the ratings and is one to watch in the market.
(1) QUERARI’S DREAM has the best draw and has been close up in his last two. He gets a stronger rider aboard.
There should be very little between (5) PAPA C and (2) RICCARDO. The former looking to be the better proposition given he meets his rival at the same weights as when they met two runs back.
Race 11 (1,400m)
(12) COGNAC looks to be top class, winning both of his starts to date. But this is his first try at 1,400m with the top weight and the worst draw. Probably just a warmup before heading to the Cape.
(5) SAFE TRAVEL showed up well in his handicap debut behind what looks to be a more than useful winner. He has a fair draw and should be a big threat.
Given the riding engagements, (3) DRICUS could be the best of Andre Nel’s trio. He started favourite on his local debut and can come on from that.
(8) ROOSTER BRADSHAW needed his last run but was not far back and should run another good race.
Race 12 (1,000m)
(9) DARK MATTER does not have the best of draws but was close-up in a strong field last time even though she carried a light weight. Down in class and she should make a fist of it.
(4) SHIPINDANI needed her last run and was not far back. Lightly raced, she can go close.
(1) CRAFTY CROFTY was close-up in a useful field over course and distance last time. She gets the benefit of a useful 4kg claimer and should run well.
(8) AMEN CORNER makes her local debut. She had modest Cape post maiden form, but has a light weight and is one to watch.
Race 13 (1,200m)
(8) CATS PAJAMAS ran a cracker behind I Am Giant at his comeback run after a break. He has drawn on the outside, but is well in at the weights with a useful 4kg claimer aboard. The horse to beat.
He faces two class acts in former Equus Champion (6) DAVE THE KING and Grade 1 Champions Cup (1,800m) winner (7) GLADATORIAN. This pair would prefer further, but their class can carry them through.
(1) SOHO STAR is course-and-distance suited and should put in a strong showing.
Race 14 (1,200m)
(7) PHUTULICIOUS is showing signs of coming to hand again and has dropped to a more competitive rating.
(5) RHYTHM was finishing well under a big weight last time and appears to have come to hand.
(8) IN THE BAG has been knocking on the door for his second win and has much in his favour.
(2) BARRY DU GROND found his best form on the Poly last time. He has always struck as something of an underachiever.
