Bowling: Singapore's Jazreel Tan wins US pro event in Lubbock, Texas

SINGAPORE - Jazreel Tan won the Professional Women's Bowling Association (PBWA) Lubbock Sports Open early Sunday morning, beating Stefanie Johnson in the stepladder finals.

The Singaporean, defeated Johnson in Texas 257-246 to win at South Plains Lanes.

Tan, 25, will take the top prize of US$10,000 (S$13,700) for her win.

She had made the stepladder finals, where she was seeded first, alongside three other Americans - Missy Parkin, Danielle McEwan and Johnson.

Other Singaporeans Shayna Ng, Cherie Tan, Daphne Tan and New Hui Fen also competed at the event.

Tan, a four-time first-team All-American and two-time collegiate player of the year at Wichita State from 2009-2013, will compete next at another PBWA pro event in Wichita, Kansas.
