SINGAPORE- Adrenalin junkies aged 15 years and above who are looking to test themselves physically against elite military standards can sign up now for the 2015 Commando Challenge presented by AXN.
One of Singapore's premier annual obstacle courses organised by Mega Adventure Events, the race will take place on the beaches, jungles and tracks spanning 6km of Sentosa Island on October 17.
This year's challenge has spawned four perilous new obstacles for participants to navigate:The A-Frame Slide, Torture Crawl, two Over-Under obstacles and the Spider Web. Old favourites such as the Electric Shock and the Ice Crawl also make a return.
An Extreme Commando Challenge is also available for the more radical participants who want an even more exhaustive workout. It covers about 10km, with each contestant required to carry loads of 15kg across the 20 obstacles.
Apart from testing competitors' physical and mental endurance, the Commando Challenge also places a strong emphasis on working with others as a team to overcome the treacherous hurdles.
Prizes offered by event sponsors include six vouchers from The North Face ranging between $200 and $250, 14 Wenger watches, $1500 worth of compression apparel by Compressport and three Sony Xperia Z3 phones.
Those interested in taking part are entitled to early-bird pricing for a limited time only as listed below. Registration is open until late September but as the Challenge is limited to about 5,000 contestants, all are advised to confirm their places as soon as possible.
