Mr Kyle Malinda-White was 14 when his mother "found out" about his homosexuality from a school counsellor he had told in confidence. Distraught, his mother stayed at home for a week instead of going to work.

The counsellor also sent Mr Malinda-White to a ministry of the Church of Our Saviour that professes to help "people recover their God-intended sexual identity", named Choices.
