PM Lee meeting Trump

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will hold a bilateral meeting today with United States President Donald Trump, who arrived in the Republic yesterday ahead of a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Mr Lee met Mr Kim yesterday at the Istana.

Mahathir to speak at Nikkei conference

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad will deliver a keynote speech at the two-day 24th International Conference on the Future of Asia, better known as the Nikkei conference, today.

The visit to Tokyo marks his first foreign trip after returning to power in a shock election result last month, and indicates a shift back to the 92-year-old's "Look East" policy to strengthen ties with East Asia, especially Japan.

Slew of events at Malay arts fest

The Esplanade's annual Malay festival of arts, Pesta Raya, returns for its 17th edition from tomorrow to Friday. Featuring programmes both ticketed and free, this year's line-up includes theatre, music, dance and workshops featuring talent from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
