As a civil engineer, Miss Lim Suet Fong is used to planning and directing others to construct buildings. But she has found herself having to get her hands dirty building hospitals and septic tanks.

Miss Lim, 39, is a volunteer with humanitarian group Doctors Without Borders, also known as Medecins Sans Frontieres.
