SINGAPORE - A video of a skateboarder clinging on to a moving lorry has been making its rounds on Facebook, drawing the ire of netizens.

The clip, which was recorded by a dashboard camera of a vehicle behind the lorry, shows the skateboarder, who looks to be in his teens, skating against the direction of traffic on a filter lane, before abruptly swinging around, crouching down behind a lorry and hanging on to the tailgate of the vehicle.

When the light turns green, the lorry accelerates with the skateboarder clinging on, while the car with the camera stays far behind.

Much later on, the boy can be seen picking himself up from the road, and walking towards the pavement.

The video, which was posted online on Sunday (Dec 20), has received generally negative responses, with netizens criticising the skateboarder for being reckless and for endangering other road users.

"This boy is toying with his life. How would his parent feel if they know it?" asked Facebook user Leow Khan Wee.

"Pest on the road...plain stupidity..." wrote commenter Jackie Tan.

As of 8.30pm on Monday (Dec 21), the video had garnered almost 185,000 views and over 3,000 shares.
