Ms Joey Kirk, vice-president of enterprise banking at United Overseas Bank (UOB) Group, led senior staff in a dragon dance for charity as UOB Group deputy chairman and chief executive officer Wee Ee Cheong (seated second from left, with pink tie) looked on at the bank's annual Chinese New Year dinner yesterday.

The fund-raiser at the Pan Pacific Hotel raised $1.16 million, the largest amount to date at UOB's annual event, of which the bank contributed $250,000.

The sum will be split among this year's beneficiaries: The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, The Business Times Budding Artists Fund, Touch Ubi Hostel and soup kitchen Willing Hearts.

This is part of UOB's Chinese New Year outreach programme, which saw 60 employees preparing 5,000 hot meals for the elderly and needy last week.
