Two taken to hospital after traffic accident in Geylang

In a video circulating online on social media, a crowd can be seen gathering around a car that appears to have mounted a kerb.

SINGAPORE – Two people involved in a traffic accident in Geylang on March 10 were taken to hospital.
In response to queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the accident at the junction of Geylang Road and Lorong 18 Geylang at 10.15am.
It added that it took one person to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and another to Raffles Hospital.
The police said they were alerted to the accident, which involved a car and a pedestrian, at about 10.10am.
A 48-year-old male car driver and a 44-year-old male pedestrian were taken conscious to hospital.
Police investigations are ongoing.
In a video circulating on social media, a crowd can be seen gathering around a white car that appears to have mounted a kerb. A person is seen in the driver’s seat, with the steering wheel’s airbag deployed.
The bonnet of the car has been smashed in, with its bumper on the ground. A damaged roadside electrical junction box and fallen tree can also be seen near the car.
The video also shows a bloodied person lying on the ground being attended to by paramedics.
