Dressed in a sari, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Grace Fu joins a male dancer to perform the ancient folk dance Karagattam at the Yuhua Community Club yesterday.
The dance, popular in the villages of rural India, was part of a joint celebration for Chinese New Year and Pongal, organised by the community club's Indian Activity Executive Committee.
Pongal is a harvest festival celebrated mainly in southern India.
The event was aimed at fostering interracial understanding among residents.
