LICENCES REVOKED

Travel firm faced complaints about money owed

A travel agency, which was no longer operating as one and had links to an online business that shut its South-east Asian operations in June, had its agent licence revoked by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) yesterday.

Deal Travel's licence had been suspended since June when it failed to submit the paperwork for it.

The board had also received complaints from Deal Travel's business partners about money owed to them by the agency.

STB advised those of its customers with insurance to seek help from their insurance providers and the rest to approach the agency's liquidators at shuhui.ng@sg.ey.com.

Registered in April 2013, the firm had listed vouchers for package deals on e-commerce site Deal.com.sg to destinations such as Batam and Bintan.

E-commerce platform Ensogo, which had bought over Deal.com.sg, closed its Kallang offices abruptly in June.

Ensogo later shut down its South-east Asian business units.
