SINGAPORE - Train service has resumed, and bus bridging services have ceased, SMRT said at 8.23am on Tuesday.

For almost an hour, there was no train service from Marina Bay to Marina South Pier station.

At about 7am, SMRT had tweeted that trains were delayed by 20 minutes between Marina South Pier station and Raffles Place station towards Jurong East.

Reader Mark Chao commented on the Straits Times' Facebook page that it took him two hours to get to Raffles Place. Other readers added that the delay also made them late for work.

There is a free bus service between City Hall station and Marina South Pier station in both directions.

Buses are also available between Marina South Pier and Marina Bay, SMRT tweeted at 7.48am.

Marina South Pier station, on the North-South line, was opened in November last year.
