Track fault causes MRT delay between Yew Tee and Kranji

SINGAPORE - A track fault caused a 15-minute delay on the North South line between Yew Tee and Kranji at around 2.35pm on Wednesday.

Southbound train services towards Marina Bay were affected.

Train operator SMRT said services resumed at 2.50pm and that trains were running normally by 3.20pm.

A free bus service ran between Choa Chu Kang and Kranji MRT stations during the delay

This follows on the heels of an earlier delay that morning on the North East line (NEL), which was held up just before 10am by a power fault.

Ms Tammy Tan, senior vice-president of corporate communications for train operator SBS Transit, said: "Service was back to normal within eight minutes. We apologise to those who were affected."
