Following recent management changes, rail operator SMRT Corp is paring down a subsidiary which was set up four years ago to market engineering services overseas.

Singapore Rail Engineering (SRE) had a joint venture with Japan's Toshiba to use and market its train motors. It had also tied up with France's Faiveley Transport to supply train maintenance and repair services in South-east Asia.
