SINGAPORE - Certificate of entitlement (COE) prices ended higher across the board at the latest tender on Wednesday.
COE for cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp finished at $67,749, up from $64,700 three weeks ago. COE for cars above 1,600cc or 130bhp closed at $76,612, up from $71,889.
Open COE, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mainly for bigger cars, soared to a one-year-high of $78,000, from $72,100 previously.
Commercial vehicle premium settled at a five-month high of $64,001, up from $59,999. Motorcycle premium again set a new record of $6,312, up from $5,610.
Industry watchers attributed the latest results to strong order books and speculators who hope to make a quick profit by reselling COEs.
