SINGAPORE – MRT service along a three-station stretch between Marina Bay and Promenade stations on the Circle Line has resumed on the morning of Sept 1 following a train fault.
Free regular bus services have ceased, SMRT said in an update at 9.17am.
In posts on social media platform X at about 8.40am and 8.50am, the train operator advised passengers travelling towards Marina Bay to transfer to the North-South Line at Dhoby Ghaut or Bishan station, or at Caldecott station for the Thomson-East Coast Line.
Meanwhile, passengers travelling towards Bayfront station could transfer at Promenade or MacPherson station for the Downtown line, SMRT said.
Free regular bus services were available between Promenade and Marina Bay, SMRT said in an update at 8.52am.
In its updated Facebook post around 9am, SMRT apologised for any inconvenience caused and advised passengers to approach SMRT staff should they require further assistance.
“We apologise for the disruption during the morning peak commute and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding”, said SMRT Trains president Lam Sheau Kai in a Facebook post by SMRT at 9.18am.
