Ride-booking app Uber launched a new uberAssist option yesterday to provide extra help for the elderly and people with disabilities. When a car is needed, uberAssist alerts a pool of about 50 drivers who had been trained to help people of various disabilities into vehicles. Paralympic swimmer Theresa Goh, seen here with Uber driver Alson Tay, was one of the first to try out the service. To use the option, Uber users can enter the promo code "assistsg", set their location and request a ride.
