Higher car prices injecting more zip into rental car demand in Singapore

SINGAPORE - More than one in five cars - or 20.9 per cent - registered here in the first three months of 2022 were for private hire, up from 12 per cent for the same period last year.

This increase was driven by the growing number of rental cars meant for private use, whether for car-sharing services or longer leasing contracts that serve as an alternative to buying a car.
