SINGAPORE - The authorities are stepping up a gear to promote cycling to support the vision of a car-lite nation with the roll-out of more cycling paths and bicycle parking lots around the island.

But the safety of pedestrians will not take a back seat, even as provision of infrastructure picks up speed.
