SINGAPORE - Light goods vehicles (LGVs) that are meant to carry only goods are being listed for sale with illegally fitted benches for passengers in the rear compartment.

Owners found to have illegally modified such vehicles with seating in the rear compartment can be fined up to $5,000, or jailed for up to three months, or both. The penalties are doubled for repeat offenders.
