SINGAPORE - SBS Transit will add five new wheelchair-accessible services from next Monday (Sept 28), bringing the total number of such services in its stable to 198.
The five services are 28, 153, 74e, 97e, and 174e.
"This means that 90 per cent of our basic bus services will be wheelchair-friendly, which will make it more convenient for passengers in wheelchairs to get around on public transport," the public transport operator said in a statement on Monday (Sept 21).
Service 97e travels between Jurong and the Central Business District, while service 174e plies between Jurong West and Outram Road.
Service 153 services the Bukit Merah, Toa Payoh and Serangoon area, while service 28 travels between Tampines and Toa Payoh.
Service 74e goes between Hougang and Holland Drive, and passes through Thomson Road, Bukit Timah Road and Clementi Road.
Wheelchair-friendly buses come with features such as a wheelchair-accessible ramp and horizontal handrails.
