SINGAPORE - A train fault on the Circle Line at around 6.50am on Friday resulted in a 20-minute delay between Mountbatten and Paya Lebar stations.

Downtown Line service was also delayed for a few minutes at around 7.30am.

The waiting time was later shortened to 15 minutes, with free bus services available, according to a tweet from SMRT.

Train services resumed at 7.24am.

At 7.40am, SMRT announced that all available trains were launched for service and at maximum capacity.

However, many commuters were not happy about the crowd and queues at Bishan Circle Line station.

Over at the Downtown Line, there was no service between Bugis Interchange Station and Chinatown Interchange Station.

SBS tweeted five minutes later that train service has resumed.
