SINGAPORE - Certificates of entitlement (COE) ended higher across the board at the latest tender on Wednesday on news of a smaller quota from next month.
COE for cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp finished at $53,000, up from $52,301 a fortnight ago. COE for cars above 1,600cc or 130bhp closed at a seven-month high of $57,508, up from $56,089. Open COE, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mostly for bigger cars, ended at $57,501, up from $56,002.
Commercial vehicle COE finished at $49,890 - a 12-month high - up from $47,889. Motorcycle premium closed at $6,302, up from $6,012.
The Land Transport Authority announced last week that there would be a 10.6 per cent shrinkage in the COE supply for the August-October quota period. This is said to have led to more desperate bidding.
