Changi Airport and SIA extend reward scheme for transit passengers

SINGAPORE - Singapore Airlines (SIA) and SilkAir customers transiting in Singapore will continue to receive either a $20 or $40 shopping voucher until the end of March 2016.

Travellers connecting on selected Air New Zealand-operated flights to or from Auckland are also eligible for the perk.

Launched in October 2012, the Changi Transit Programme is a joint initiative with Changi Airport Group to encourage more travellers to hub out of Singapore.

The vouchers are valid for one-time use at more than 510 retail, food and service outlets in the transit and public areas of the three main terminals.

They can also be redeemed for one-time access to the Ambassador Transit Lounge at T2 and 3 for up to four hours.

Services at the lounge include showers and light refreshments.

Changi Airport's senior vice-president (market development), Lim Ching Kiat, said: "Transfer traffic is a vital component of our air traffic which helps bolster Changi Airport's position as a premier air hub in Asia.

" We are delighted to continue our partnership with Singapore Airlines and SilkAir to grow the Changi air hub through the extension of the Changi Transit Programme."
