SINGAPORE - There was a massive traffic jam along Lornie Road, after an accident on Farrer Road opposite Empress Market, on Friday morning.

The Police and Singapore Civil Defence Force responded to a call for help just before 8am. The Police said that the accident involved a trailer, motorcycle and two cars.

A 23-year-old motorcyclist was taken to the National University Hospital by ambulance. His was conscious and condition was not critical.

The jam, stretching from Bartley to Farrer road, lasted for at least 1.5 hours.

Cabby Oh Hua Heng, 60, who was taking a passenger from Tampines to the National University of Singapore, said he was stuck in traffic from Braddell to Farrer road at about 8am.

When he reached Farrer Road, he saw that three of the four lanes were blocked by a trailer, two cars, an ambulance and police cars.

"It looked like the trailer had hit a motorbike and the motorbike was under the container of the trailer," he said.

The Police are investigating the accident.
