SINGAPORE – Nineteen new parcel lockers out of the 150 planned to be installed by 2027 are up and running, and e-commerce giant Lazada has expanded its partnership with locker operator Pick Network to include the lockers as a delivery option from March.

These lockers allow residents to conveniently collect or return parcels at any time of the day, eliminating the need to reschedule missed deliveries or wait for someone to pick up a return.

So far, Lazada has used the lockers only to collect returns.

Some of the 19 new lockers are located in Woodleigh Hillside in Bidadari Park Drive, Plantation Grange in Tengah Garden Avenue and West Coast ParkView in West Coast Crescent, Pick Network said on Feb 10.

Pick Network chief executive New Soon Tee told The Straits Times that, with the partnership, Lazada shoppers will have more choices in terms of their preferred method of delivery.

For consumers who are concerned about the security of parcels being left on their doorstep when they are not home, the lockers are a “convenient, secure” option, Mr New said.

The company, which is owned by the Infocomm Media Development Authority, currently operates 1,029 lockers located in housing estates, community clubs and transport nodes across Singapore.

In November 2024, Pick Network

announced that it was adding 150 lockers to its network by 2027.

These will be in new housing estates, such as Alkaff Oasis in Bidadari Park, Fernvale Glades in Sengkang West and Tampines GreenCourt in Tampines North.

The company also announced on Feb 10 that it will partner Guangdong-based logistics company SF Express – China’s largest logistics service provider – from April 1.

Mr New said that this collaboration means consumers can have a broader range of items delivered to the company’s network of lockers.

To address growing demand for Pick Network lockers, the company also intends to expand between 40 and 50 existing highly used lockers by adding 20 compartments to each locker, Mr New told ST. This will boost the total number of compartments by 30 per cent to 50 per cent, he said.

The expansion will take place between May 2025 and March 2026, and will include lockers in locations such as 63 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, Sengkang Community Club, Heartbeat@Bedok, Telok Blangah CC, 828 Jurong West Street 81 and 178 Woodlands Street 13.

Pick Network handled eight million parcels in 2024, more than triple the 2.5 million it handled the year prior.

DHL Express Singapore, another Pick Network partner, said that it saw a 50 per cent jump in deliveries to Pick Network lockers between 2023 and 2024.

Mr Christopher Ong, managing director of DHL Express Singapore, said that its customers are “starting to recognise the benefits of having these smart lockers literally 200m, 300m from their lift lobbies”.

The lockers are also “a very safe and secure solution” when customers are not home to receive high-value deliveries, Mr Ong said.

“This gives them the peace of mind to shop confidently.”

When buying from e-commerce retailers, consumers can opt to collect their items from their chosen Pick Network locker.

When the item has been delivered to the locker, the consumer will receive a PIN code, which is required to open the locker.
