SINGAPORE - When an Internet shutdown in Teheran derailed a key Iranian witness from getting his visa application cleared for an arbitration hearing in Singapore, he was flown to Turkish city Istanbul instead and testified via video link.
The scramble to meet the scheduled hearing deadline included getting a Farsi-English translator and also someone from Singapore to be present in Turkey while the witness testified, in order to ensure the integrity of the process.
