Last month, the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*Star) put up a tender notice in search of a firm to help it evaluate its scientific achievements over the past decade.

Among other things, Singapore's largest public sector research agency wanted to identify the research fields in which the largest number of scientific papers were published.
