SINGAPORE - Temasek Holdings said chief executive Ho Ching has extended her part-time sabbatical leave to six months, the Singapore state investor announced on its website on Saturday.

She will complete her sabbatical in October, Temasek said in the statement, adding that "She will continue with her board duties and specific stewardship duties."

Temasek had earlier said she would return after her three-month sabbatical ends in July.

Ms Ho is the wife of current Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. She took leave in late March after the death of her father-in-law Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore's first prime minister.

Temasek said in today's statement that Mr Lee Theng Kiat, president of Temasek, will continue to cover all normal course of business at Temasek.
