Dress up as a denizen of the sea, play games and solve a mystery to win prizes while exploring the new Singapore Oceanarium – this is what awaits upper primary pupils whose schools sign them up for an exclusive event this October.

The event, Big Day Out, is free for schools that subscribe to Little Red Dot, The Straits Times’ weekly publication for primary schools. Previous Big Day Out events have been held at locations such as the National Museum and ArtScience Museum.

This year, marking Little Red Dot’s 20th anniversary celebration, ST has partnered with Singapore Oceanarium at Resorts World Sentosa to bring this special experience to life. The event will be held on the morning of Oct 28.

Said Ms Serene Luo, the editor of ST Schools, which produces Little Red Dot and other student publications: “Little Red Dot has always been about encouraging pupils to read and learn more about the world while developing critical thinking skills.

“We hope Big Day Out at Singapore Oceanarium brings news stories about the oceans and conservation to life for our readers – and inspires them to keep up with a very important current affairs issue.”

Little Red Dot is inviting up to 24 teams of primary school pupils to explore the oceanarium in groups of five. Participants can also join a hands-on badge-making activity and receive exclusive gifts like Little Red Dot trading cards and lanyards.
