SINGAPORE - Even before Russian tanks rolled into Ukraine and artillery fire rained on its capital Kyiv late last week, the battle to shape the narrative of the conflict had already begun.
In Russia, unfounded claims were made that Ukraine was engaged in state-sponsored violence, supposedly by a neo-Nazi regime, and was planning to attack some separatist-held territories using chemical weapons.
