SINGAPORE - The Singapore Sports Hub is usually known as a hotspot for sports enthusiasts. But on Saturday (March 3) evening, the area will be a gathering place for a slightly different group of people - singles.

In collaboration with Spark Connections, the Singapore Sports Hub is jointly organising a movie screening targeted at singles.

Held at the Kallang Basin waterfront, the event will see a screening of popular Japanese animated film Kimi no Na wa (Your Name), the highest-grossing anime film of all time.

The screening is free for all singles who pre-register for the event. They will also receive a free Kallang Wave Mall picnic mat upon confirmation.

Non-singles who are interested in attending the screening can redeem a pair of tickets and picnic mat by spending $80 in a single receipt ($120 at Fairprice Extra).

Ms Lee Pey Tzuann, a designer who will be attending the event, said that she heard about the event through a friend.

"The movie sounded interesting, so I decided to go with one of my friends," said the 29-year-old. She added that she attends SSH events regularly, in hopes of making new friends and maintaining her health.

Another SSH regular, Ms Jessica Chong, also expressed interest in the event.

The 25-year-old business analyst has been frequenting the sports hub since September last year.

"I wanted to lose weight and gain work-life balance," she said. "But I decided to attend the screening because my fellow fitness friends asked me to join."

The screening will be held at OCBC Square from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
