Housed in a red brick building and a stone's throw from the famous Old Airport Road food centre, Mountbatten Community Club (CC) in Jalan Satu has been a focal point for residents of different races and backgrounds for the past 38 years.
Through various fund-raising efforts, including Cantonese and Teochew opera shows and door-to-door soliciting for donations, the club was officially opened on March 15, 1981, by former Mountbatten MP Eugene Yap.
