Some bus, train services to be extended on eve of Good Friday and Labour Day

On April 17 and April 30, train services on the North-South, East-West, Circle and Thomson-East Coast lines will run till about half an hour later than usual.

SINGAPORE – Local operators SMRT and SBS Transit will extend services on selected train lines and bus routes for those eyeing longer nights out on the eve of two upcoming public holidays.
On April 17, the day before Good Friday, and April 30, the day before Labour Day, train services on the North-South, Downtown, North East, East-West, Circle and Thomson-East Coast lines will run till about half an hour later than usual.
The last trains to terminal stations Pasir Ris, Tuas Link, Marina South Pier and Jurong East will leave City Hall at 12.30am on both dates, said SMRT on April 10.
At HarbourFront and Punggol Coast stations on the North East Line, the last trains will depart on the eve of both public holidays at 12.30am and midnight, respectively, said SBS on April 11.
On the Circle Line, the final train for the day will leave Dhoby Ghaut for HarbourFront at 11.55pm and vice versa at 11.30pm.
The Sengkang-Punggol Light Rail Transit (LRT) service will also be extended on both dates, with the final LRT trains for the day departing from Sengkang and Punggol stations at 1.06am and 1.09am, respectively.
Operating hours for the Bukit Panjang LRT and Changi Airport train service will not change.
Eighteen of SMRT’s bus services will also be extended at four interchanges – Choa Chu Kang and the bus stop across from it, Bukit Panjang, Boon Lay and Woodlands.
Most last-bus timings are fixed at around 1.30am.
They are: 300, 301, 302, 307, 983A, 901, 911, 912A, 912B, 913, 920, 922, 973A, 181, 240, 241, 243G and 974A.
The 17 SBS bus services that will end later, mostly around 1am, are: 222, 225G, 228, 229, 410W, 114A, 60A, 63M, 325, 315, 291, 292, 293, 232, 238, 804 and 812.
Good Friday is a day of sorrow observed by Christians to commemorate the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
Labour Day, interchangeably known as International Workers’ Day, is an annual celebration of the labour movement.
